Arab bloc just told Israel to leave Syria.
Saudi Arabia's UN ambassador Abdulaziz Alwasil, speaking for the Arab Group at the Security Council, called Israel's strikes and ground incursions a breach of Syrian sovereignty and demanded a full pullout, the occupied Golan included.
Alwasil: "a flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity."
The backdrop is the part that stings. Israel has held most of the Golan since the 1967 war, pushed past the old buffer line after Assad fell in late 2024, and has been hitting targets across Syria ever since.
The demand is real, the odds of it landing are not. The Golan has been "occupied Syrian land" on paper for nearly 60 years, and a strongly worded statement at the council has never once moved a checkpoint.
