Here's what I've come to appreciate about the left, as opposed to the right. During my childhood I always heard about 'bleeding heart liberals'. After Oct. 7th I learned just how important it is to have a 'bleeding heart', as my heart bled for the people of Gaza and I watched conservatives being cold and heartless, even justifying a genocide. That's when I knew that although the left may be overly emphatic with all sorts of 'oppressed' groups at least they have a heart that bleeds. The right has bought into social Darwinism and has a heart of stone when it comes to the weak and oppressed. They are inherently racist, colonialist and imperialist and very often dumb as a post. They are no longer my tribe. In fact, I don't see the point in being tribalist at all, because it's divide-and-rule tactics meant to keep us stuck in a culture war when we should be united in a class war. Seems to me we can take a few pointers from the left.
