⚠️URGENT:

AFP warns its last journalists in Gaza are at imminent risk of starving to death, something unprecedented in the agency’s history. Cut off from the world, they report under siege with no food, fuel, or medical care.

Photographer Bashar says he’s too weak to work and that his brother collapsed from hunger. Reporters live in ruins, move on foot, and face constant danger.

Despite their courage, AFP says their strength is fading and they could die at any moment.

“I go diving for oysters to feed my siblings,” said a 14-year-old boy in Gaza. “What I feel now is seeing my siblings happy eating from the loaf of bread.”

Last night, he risked his life for a bag of flour, dodging Israeli bullets at an aid site. Half the bag was stolen before he got home.

⚡🇵🇸BREAKING: Hamas Statement regarding the Famine declaration in Gaza:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The declaration of famine is a stain on the occupation and its supporters, and necessitates immediate action to stop the war and open the crossings.

What was announced by the United Nations' "Integrated Food Security Phase Classification" regarding the spread of famine in Gaza Governorate, and what the World Health Organization confirmed about Gaza City suffering from a famine extending throughout the Strip, represents conclusive international testimony to the crime committed by the zionist occupation against more than two million besieged people.

This is a confirmation of the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe our people are exposed to due to the continuous "israeli" aggression, which uses the policy of starvation as a tool of war and extermination against civilians, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and all international norms and conventions.

We, in the Hamas movement, affirm the importance of this UN announcement, even though it came very late after many months of warnings and suffering that our people endured under systematic siege and starvation.

We have repeatedly warned that the policies of siege and systematic starvation, and the prevention of food, medicine, and water from our people, constitute a full-fledged crime of genocide. Today, UN reports have come to confirm to the entire world the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe our people are experiencing.

The criminal occupation's denial of this documented reality, and its false claims that there is no famine in Gaza, reveals a criminal mentality that deliberately lies to cover up the crime of killing by starvation being practiced against children, women, and the sick, in flagrant defiance of all international laws and norms.

The international community, with all its institutions, bears an urgent legal and moral responsibility to stop crimes against humanity and save more than two million people facing genocide, starvation, and the systematic destruction of all means of life. In this context, we call for the following:

1. Immediate action by the United Nations and the Security Council to stop the war and lift the siege.
2. Opening the crossings without restrictions for the urgent and continuous entry of food, medicine, water, and fuel.
3. Holding the occupation legally accountable for using starvation as a weapon of war, as it constitutes a war crime and a crime of genocide under international law.
4. We call on Arab and Islamic countries and the free people of the world to take immediate action and pressure the occupation to stop the war of genocide and ensure the flow of urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

⚡️IMPORTANT:

Israel is trying to deny the famine declaration in Gaza by the IPC, claiming that it relied on a lower threshold for declaring famine.

This is categorically false. IPC data clearly shows the metrics used, how each stage is measured, and the impact of the Israeli man-made famine.

No amount of Hasbara will change the reality.

THERE IS FAMINE IN GAZA.

ISRAEL IS STARVING GAZA.

⚡🇺🇳JUST IN: All 15 members of the UN Security Council, except for the US, issued a joint statement that included the following points.

The statement comes as Trump is holding talks today alongside Tony Blair and Jared Kushner for the "post-war Gaza plan".

Joint statement:

We express our deep concern about the presence of famine in Gaza Governorate.

We call on "israel" to immediately reverse its decision to expand its operation in Gaza.

Famine in Gaza must be stopped immediately and international law respected.

The use of starvation as a weapon of war is prohibited under international law.

Approximately 41,000 children are at risk of death due to malnutrition in Gaza.

We call for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

We call for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas.

⚡️Hamas Statement:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

We welcome the statement issued by the members of the UN Security Council, with the exception of the United States, and call for practical steps to deter the occupation and compel it to stop the crime of genocide in Gaza.

We, in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), welcome the statement issued by the members of the UN Security Council, with the exception of the United States of America, which called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, and affirmed that the use of starvation as a weapon is prohibited under international law.

The statement by the members of the UN Security Council, issued without the participation of the United States, highlights the catastrophic humanitarian situation created by the fascist occupation in the Gaza Strip, and the seriousness of the spread of famine there, especially its impact on the lives of innocent children and civilians, where hundreds have died of starvation due to the systematic starvation policy pursued by the occupation.

We see this international stance as an advanced step that demonstrates broad consensus in condemning the crime of genocide and the war of starvation waged by the zionist enemy against more than two million besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The continued American stance preventing the issuance of binding resolutions makes it a full partner in the crime, and responsible for the famine and massacres our people are subjected to.

We call on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and take practical steps to deter the government of war criminal Netanyahu, compel it to stop the brutal war of extermination that has been ongoing for nearly twenty-three months, and work to hold the occupation's war criminal leaders accountable for their crimes against humanity.
