For the first time, Israeli and Turkish air forces reportedly clashed over Syrian airspace this weekend, according to the opposition-linked Turkish site Sugeju. Turkish F-16s allegedly entered Syrian airspace during heavy Israeli strikes and sent “warning messages” to Israeli jets, which had targeted forces linked to Turkey. The IDF denies the report.
According to the site, the Turkish and Israeli fighter jets came face to face, with Turkish pilots using electronic warfare systems and communications to issue the warnings.
