Three Druze-Syrian citizens were recently evacuated to Israeli territory for medical treatment. They were taken to Ziv Medical Center in Safed after being injured in Syria, according to the “IDF.”
Israel’s longstanding goal has been the fragmentation of Syria—a strategy openly expressed by various Israeli leaders, most recently Bezalel Smotrich. Their chosen tool for this? The Druze.
Today, Israel launched multiple airstrikes on Damascus, providing cover for a Druze proxy attacking Syrian security forces and fueling chaos and corruption.
An Israeli minister also announced plans to form a military battalion made up of Druze from occupied Palestine to support Druze in Syria—marking the extent of Israel’s involvement.
In a joint statement, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz claimed the Israeli army carried out a “warning strike” on a group allegedly preparing to attack Druze in Syria’s Damascus Governorate.
At the same time, a stern message was delivered to the Syrian regime: Israel expects it to act to protect the Druze.
Syria responded by rejecting any foreign intervention into Syrian internal affairs.
