Urgent Call for Action: Free Palestinian Journalist Sami Assai from "Palestinian Authority" (PA) Detention!
Just released from months of horrific torture in "israel" torture facilities, including sexual assaults classified as war crimes, Sami Assai (@SamiAssai) bravely shared his testimony. Now, the "Palestinian Authority" (PA) has detained him in Tulkarm on bogus charges of "inciting sectarian strife" and "defaming the PA" over his social media posts.
Sami, a kidney donor to his son, is in critical health and needs urgent medical monitoring. His condition could deteriorate rapidly in custody. This is a blatant attack on press freedom and a betrayal of Palestinian voices.
The "Palestinian Authorities” Long History of Torture and Impunity:
This isn't an isolated incident—it's part of a systemic pattern. Human rights organizations like Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Amnesty International have documented decades of routine torture by "Palestinian Authority" (PA) security forces, including beatings, stress positions, solitary confinement, and sexual abuse, often targeting critics, journalists, and political opponents. In 2023 alone, the Independent Commission for Human Rights in Palestine received 123 complaints of torture in West Bank detention centers. HRW's 2022 report highlighted how these abuses amount to crimes against humanity, with no accountability: no PA security officer has been convicted for torture in recent years. Amnesty's 1996 report exposed widespread arbitrary arrests and prolonged detentions without trial, a practice that persists today. Journalists like Sami are especially vulnerable, with HRW noting cases of equipment confiscation and barriers to reporting.
Sami, like many brave journalist are targeted for actively debunking misinformation circulating about Palestinian affairs.
The world must know: Demand the "Palestinian Authority" (PA) release Sami NOW! Share his story, tag @PalestinePMO, and amplify his account @SamiAssai. Enough is enough—end the cycle of abuse!
