Press Statement No. (901) issued by the Government Media Office:
Famine is worsening in the Gaza Strip; we warn against false narratives regarding aid entry, and flour needs exceed 500,000 bags per week
The severity and spread of famine are escalating across the governorates of the Gaza Strip, coinciding with the complete closure of all crossings by the Israeli occupation for 145 consecutive days, and the ongoing ban on the entry of infant formula and humanitarian aid.
Hospitals in Gaza have recorded more than 115 deaths due to famine and malnutrition. This comes amid an almost total absence of food, clean water, and medicine. The Gaza Strip urgently requires no less than 500,000 bags of flour weekly to prevent total humanitarian collapse.
We follow with concern the claims circulated by some activists outside Gaza regarding a so-called “famine relief” and the entry of “hundreds of aid trucks.” We categorically deny these allegations, which are entirely false, dangerously echo the Israeli occupation's misleading narrative, and intentionally distort the reality of the ongoing crime.
We call on all countries—without exception—to immediately break the blockade, reopen the crossings permanently, and ensure the delivery of infant formula and humanitarian aid to over 2.4 million besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
We also warn against the spread of false narratives that numb global awareness, urge our Palestinian people not to align with such deceptive claims, and hold all parties morally and humanly responsible for conveying the truth and working to end the suffering.
