⭕️ BREAKING: UN Committee Against Torture: Israel now has a “de facto State policy of organized and widespread torture and ill-treatment” that has “gravely intensified” since October 7.

The UN Committee is made up of ten independent UN experts and periodically monitors states’ compliance with the Convention against Torture, issuing binding assessments of state conduct. Their latest findings of Israel’s conduct include repeated severe beatings, dog attacks, electrocution, waterboarding, prolonged stress positions, sexual violence, humiliation such as being forced to act like animals or being urinated on, denial of medical care, excessive restraints causing amputations, surgery without anaesthetic, exposure to extreme heat or cold, deprivation of food, water, hygiene, clothing, sleep, and the use of hallucinogens on detainees.

The Committee found at least 75 Palestinians have died in custody since October 7 amid a deliberate state policy of collective punishment, with autopsies showing signs of torture, malnutrition and untreated medical conditions — and no officials held accountable. Israel has also suspended ICRC access to detainees.

It warned that Israel’s sweeping administrative detention regime has reached “unprecedented” scale, with Palestinians held for months without charge, denied lawyers for up to 15 days, and presented to judges after 12 days. Settlers, however, were exempted from the same military order.

Under the Unlawful Combatants Law, Palestinians — including older people, disabled people, pregnant women and children — have been detained in groups without individualized assessment, held incommunicado, and placed outside legal protection in what the Committee says amounts to enforced disappearance.

The Committee further warned that Israel’s cumulative policies — the blockade on aid, destruction of civilian infrastructure, forced displacement, and a system of movement restrictions and segregation — may amount to torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment of the Palestinian population as a whole.

UN RECOMMENDATION:

Despite widespread allegations, Israel has produced only one torture conviction in the past two years: a soldier who repeatedly beat bound, blindfolded Palestinian detainees — punching them, striking them with a baton, and hitting them with his rifle. He received a seven-month sentence, which the Committee said “does not reflect the severity of the offense.”

It called on Israel to establish “an independent, impartial and effective investigatory commission” to investigate all torture allegations, prosecute perpetrators “including superior officers,” and guarantee the “immediate entry” of humanitarian aid into Gaza. The Committee also cited unprecedented levels of settler violence and administrative detention.

It expressed serious concern that Israel still lacks a standalone crime of torture, and that interrogators may claim a “necessity” defense for the use of unlawful physical pressure. It urged Israel to finally create a real criminal ban on torture, to disclose what “special means” its interrogators are using behind closed doors, and to stop using any excuses — war, security, or otherwise — to justify torture and abuse.

⚡🇺🇸JUST IN: U.S Ambassador to U.N Mike Waltz:

There is no war against Venezuela or its people. We are not occupying a country. This was a law enforcement operation in furtherance of lawful indictments that have existed for decades.

If the UN confers legitimacy on an illegitimate narco-terrorist...What kind of organization is this?!

⚡🇺🇳🇮🇱BREAKING: UN Statement on Israel demolishing UNRWA’s HQ:

“A new level of open and deliberate defiance of international law, including of the privileges and immunities of the United Nations, by the State of Israel.

Early this morning, Israeli forces stormed the UNRWA Headquarters, a United Nations site, in East Jerusalem.

Bulldozers entered the compound and began demolishing buildings inside it under the watch of lawmakers and a member of the government.

This constitutes an unprecedented attack against a United Nations agency and its premises.

Like all UN Member States and countries committed to the international rule-based order, Israel is obliged to protect and respect the inviolability of UN premises.

This comes in the wake of other steps taken by Israeli authorities to erase the Palestine Refugee identity.

On January 14, Israeli forces stormed into an UNRWA health centre in East Jerusalem and ordered it to close.

Water and power supplies to UNRWA facilities - including health and education buildings - are also scheduled to be cut in the coming weeks.

This is a direct result of legislation passed by the Israeli parliament in December, which stepped up existing anti-UNRWA laws adopted in 2024.

These actions, together with previous arson attacks and a large-scale disinformation campaign, fly in the face of the ruling in October by the International Court of Justice, which restated that Israel is obliged under international law to facilitate UNRWA’s operations, not hinder or prevent them. The court also stressed that Israel has no jurisdiction over East Jerusalem.

There can be no exceptions.

This must be a wake-up call.

What happens today to UNRWA will happen tomorrow to any other international organisation or diplomatic mission, whether in the Occupied Palestinian Territory or anywhere around the world.

International law has come under increasing attack for too long and is risking irrelevancy in the absence of response by Member States.”
