Ohio’s getting a new Bayer plant. They’re calling it North America’s first “Biotech facility.” Focus: human gene editing, engineered cells, “biologically driven innovations.”

Same company that bought Monsanto. Now they’re building the lab that rewrites people.

What this kind of place is actually for; The 8 ethical challenges in the Biotech field;
medium.com/@nirdosh_jagot…
1. Editing the human genome. Altering DNA. Permanent.
2. GMOs and the food supply. Who controls the seed controls the plate.
3. Stem cells. Treat human cells like commodities and you lose the public. Treat them like “cures” and you keep the trust while you experiment.
4. Genetic data. Your DNA in a database you don’t control.
5. Dual use. The same tools that make a therapy make a weapon. They never lead with that part.
6. Animal testing out. AI-simulated trials in. Faster approval, less oversight.
7. “Access.” You fund it. They own it. Then they price it.
8. Environmental side effects. Once it’s out, it doesn’t come back.

They’re selling it as jobs. Read the fine print.

Republicans have already lost the midterms, if a new poll is any indication.

A new Gallup poll on political party affiliation found that more Americans identify as Democrats now than at any point since 2009.

Fifty percent of respondents said they were Democrats or “lean more” toward the Democratic Party, while only 39 percent said they identified as Republican lean toward being a Republican.
