Jesse Jackson’s 1984 DNC speech feels like something from a different planet.
Demanding a new form of foreign policy “characterized by mutual respect, not by gunboat diplomacy and threats,” he calls to end the nuclear arms race and condemns the US decision to “mine the harbors of Nicaragua… to try to overthrow that government.”
Jackson openly rejects the “moral disgrace” of America partnering with apartheid South Africa, noting the absurdity of Reagan condemning Nicaragua’s lack of elections while US officials “embrace military regimes [after] overthrowing democratic governments in Nigeria and Liberia and Ghana.”
America, he says, “must play the game by one set of rules.”
This clip gives you a sense of what he and his campaign represented: an uncompromising rejection of US militarism abroad and a bold New Deal style economic program at home to put the unemployed back to work rebuilding American infrastructure.
Today, when the only political visions being offered are Trump’s naked gangster capitalism and diversity-tinged neoliberalism, he is sorely missed.

It's worse than you think: By declaring glyphosate to be critical for national security and defense, and placing its control under the Secretary of War, Trump just unleashed actual NAZI NERVE AGENT chemical weapon on America:

This shared chemistry between pesticides and nerve agents is a historical reality.

BREAKING - Donald Trump bypasses Congress by attempting to provide immunity to cancer-causing glyphosate manufacturers!!!Glyphosate causes cancer according to several court rulings. In a gift to the big pharma/big ag industry, Trump has just tried to unilaterally block state laws and court rulings that allow liability for cancer from glyphosate manufacturers.
Glyphosate is found in Roundup, which is produced by a subsidiary of Bayer Pharma. MAHA has been fighting with Congress for months to prevent them from inserting chemical immunity into various bills. When the GOP failed to deliver, Trump stepped in and did it for them.

Trump just signed an Exclusive Order PROTECTING & GIVING IMMUNITY to companies like Monsanto, that are making some of the WORST chemicals imaginable (Glyphosate & Phosphorus), causing the nastiest forms of cancer, and actively POISONING the American people through our food supply.
