Russia didn't help Syria on moral principle they did it because it was in their own interests to do so. They will help Iran only in so far as it overlaps with Russian interests. Putin is a nationalist. America in unique in that it will go against their own interest to put Israel first. This is because the US is controlled by a parasite.
