Ooggetuige Yav Montano zat in het metrostel waar het volgens hem gebeurde. „Een rookgranaat ging af voordat we bij het metrostation kwamen. De trein reed langzaam naar het platform vanwege een metro voor ons”, zo zegt hij tegen CNN. Plotseling ging een rookgranaat af. „Toen gebeurde het. Het leek gepland. Ik dacht eerst dat het vuurwerk was. Ik ben dankbaar dat ik me achter een stoel kon verschuilen.”
