Muslim American members of Congress issued a joint statement denouncing “vile, anti-Muslim, and racist smears” against NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
“These hateful, Islamophobic, and racist tropes have become so entrenched and normalized in our politics."
They warned such attacks fuel violence and dehumanization against Muslim Americans and called on leaders across the country to speak out.
