Putin describes a scenario he proposed the United States, Russia, and Europe jointly created a missile defense system.

The US was working on a missile defense system for Iran.

Bush originally said yes… but we need to think about it.

Putin’s proposal was eventually declined, and to protect his own country, it forced Russia to create hypersonic missile systems that could bypass our own Missile defense system.
