Civil Defense teams, in cooperation with the Forensic Evidence Department, recovered the remains of 13 martyrs from beneath the rubble of the Al-Dalloul family home, known as the home of Abu Haroun Dalloul, in the Salah al-Din Street area of Deir al-Balah. The recovery operation is being carried out in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The house was targeted on October 17, 2023, while approximately 30 people were inside, most of them women and children. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of the vast majority of those inside. At the time, only one person was rescued alive, while the body of another victim was recovered. The remaining victims were left buried beneath the rubble.
The remains recovered today were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, where their identities will be determined by their families before the remains are handed over in accordance with established procedures for burial.
Approximately 22 martyrs are still missing beneath the rubble. Search and recovery operations are scheduled to resume tomorrow in the same area, near Salah al-Din Street and Bahlouli Land, in the vicinity of the Kissufim area, in an effort to recover the remaining victims' remains.
