The Israeli occupation’s Shin Bet has been pressuring prominent Palestinian families, including the Bakr, Dughmush, and Abu Hasira clans, to cooperate with its operations in Gaza.
Community elders were reportedly asked to:
Form local armed groups, manage and police aid distribution, fight Hamas, and pass intelligence to Israel.
Sources at Saudi newspaper Asharq al-Awsat say that the aim is to split Gaza into clan-controlled regions, preventing a unified Palestinian leadership or the establishment of a future Palestinian state.
When the families refused, Israel responded with deadly airstrikes:
-Al-Sabra, Gaza City: 30 members of the Dughmush family killed, at least 20 more still under rubble.
-Near Al-Shati Camp: 6 members of the Bakr family killed, 11 wounded.
-Behind Al-Shifa Medical Complex: Homes of the Abu Hasira family bombed after rejecting recruitment to act against their own community in Tal al-Hawa, already under siege.

On Abu Hasira Street in western Gaza City, paramedics and media crews had just entered an apartment belonging to the Abu Hasira family to rescue the injured when Israeli warplanes struck again, injuring several. Like the Dughmush and Bakr families before them, Abu Hasira family has refused to cooperate with the IOF and form armed gangs and they are being bombed as punishment. This is a clear case of a “double tap” strike, a war crime committed by the Israeli terrorist government, which deliberately bombs the same site a second time after journalists and humanitarian responders arrive. Such attacks target those documenting the truth and rescuing the wounded, in direct violation of international law.
