This bold and principled decision reflects a firm commitment to international law, as well as demonstrates a genuine dedication to ending the occupation and achieving lasting peace; ensuring security, stability, and prosperity for the region and the world at large. The Ministry underscores the unwavering readiness and determination of the State of Palestine and its legitimate government to forge strong, substantive, and enduring relations with these countries on all fronts.
The Ministry views this wave of recognitions as an affirmation of the just and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, helping to protect the two-state solution from the threats posed by the ongoing genocide, starvation, forced displacement, and annexation committed by the Occupying Power against our people. They also provide additional momentum to regional and international efforts, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of France, to implement the New York Declaration, with the aim of achieving an immediate ceasefire, resolving the conflict through political means, and restoring respect for international law and legitimacy as the basis for peace, rather than the arrogant use of disproportionate force.
The Ministry calls on countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine, foremost the United States of America, to take the initiative in doing so, uphold international law, and adhere to the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice. Standing on the right side of history, these countries can help remedy the injustices inflicted upon our people and enable them to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination. At the same time, the Ministry emphasizes that an immediate end to all Israeli war crimes, is essential to building trust, and restoring a viable political horizon for a just and lasting resolution.”
️JUST IN: Hamas: Press StatementIn response to the recognition of the State of Palestine by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, and the announcement by several countries of their intention to recognize the Palestinian state, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) affirms the following:
This recognition is an important step in maintaining the right of our Palestinian people to their land and holy sites, and to establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. It is a deserved outcome of our people’s struggle, steadfastness, and sacrifices on the path to liberation and return.
This important step must be accompanied by practical measures leading to an immediate halt to the brutal genocide against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and to confront the annexation and Judaization plans in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
We call on the international community, the UN, and its institutions to isolate this rogue entity, halt all forms of cooperation and coordination with it, take punitive measures against it, and work to hold its leaders - the war criminals - accountable before international courts for their crimes against humanity.
The fascist occupation government insists on defying international laws, conventions, and humanitarian norms, committing the worst violations against our people through declared policies of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement. This now requires clear and effective positions to deter it.
The resistance and struggle of our Palestinian people against the most brutal occupation in modern history is a natural right guaranteed by international law.
