JUST IN: Hamas leader Basem Naim:
We are presented with initial ideas that the American side calls an "offer," and it is clear that its primary goal is to lead to the rejection of the "offer," rather than to reach an agreement that leads to a cessation of the war, the complete withdrawal of hostile forces, and an exchange of prisoners.
The ideas speak of receiving all prisoners on the first day and conditioning withdrawal on the formation of a government that "israel" is satisfied with, and the implementation of the tasks assigned to it, foremost among them security arrangements.
The ideas also speak of "defining Hamas," discussing amnesty for its cadres and leadership, and disarming the resistance, without mentioning reconstruction.
Hamas and the resistance factions are keen to reach an agreement that ends the war, stops the genocide, and opens horizons for a political solution that achieves our legitimate national goals.
