BREAKING: Hamas Statement on World Refugee Day:
There is no solution to the issue of Palestinian refugees except through the end of the occupation and their return to the homes from which they were displaced.
We call for activating the prosecution of occupation leaders for their crimes against humanity, and for effective action to end the aggression and occupation, and to isolate this fascist entity that threatens peace and security in the world.
The world’s celebration of World Refugee Day, while the war of extermination and starvation continues against our people in the Gaza Strip — which has worsened the conditions of refugees and the displaced among them — places the international community before a political, legal, humanitarian, and moral responsibility to put an end to the aggression and zionist criminality.
The occupation’s ongoing aggressive war against the camps in the occupied West Bank, through systematic destruction and displacement, is a dangerous persistence in targeting the refugee issue and erasing its features.
The right of return for refugees to their homes from which they were displaced by the occupation is an individual and collective right, affirmed by international laws, covenants, and UN resolutions. No one has the right to abandon it, relinquish it, bargain over it, or concede it.
We categorically reject all zionist attempts, supported by the American administration, aimed at eliminating, erasing, and canceling the role of UNRWA, or transferring its mandate to any other entity — especially in the distribution of aid and relief.
