Her 17-year-old son, Abdul Rahman Zeidan, was beside her when she died. “We thought it would be orderly,” he said. “She told me to duck and move forward, then she was gone.” As he tried to return to her, chaos broke out. “They gassed us, blinded us with lasers, and opened fire with drones and cranes. The Yasser Abu Shabab gangs were there too, backed by Israel, spreading fear.”
Ahmad, her second son and another witness, begged others not to be fooled again: “Let us go hungry, let us die, but don’t go this way. Let us keep our dignity.” He added bitterly, “They promised safety, we didn’t even get one minute of it. It’s all a lie.”
As Abdulrahman tried to return and pull her out, she had already disappeared into the chaos. Abdul Rahman described being sprayed with gas, blinded by lasers, and surrounded by drones and military vehicles. He said Israeli-backed Yasser Abu Shabab gangs were also present, spreading chaos and panic among people already desperate for food.
