Column: De Ambulante moraal

“Hamas gebruikt menselijk schild.” “We moeten beide kanten horen.”

🚨BREAKING:

As shown in the image, this is the Israeli plan now unfolding on the ground. The Philadelphi Corridor appears on the left, and the area being prepared is labeled the “humanitarian zone” which in reality is a concentration camp in Rafah and near Khan Younis.

Israel aims to push hundreds of thousands toward the Egyptian border to pressure Egypt into allowing their entry, after failing to find other countries to take them while also having in mind the idea of “voluntary emigration” that can happen through Karam Abu Salem and then Ramon airport.

The zone is too small to accommodate such numbers—the real goal is not shelter, but to make life unbearable and force displacement.

⚡️BREAKING:

Al Jazeera correspondent: An Israeli special forces unit infiltrated Khan Yunis in a civilian vehicle while wearing women’s clothing.

They stormed a house, killed the husband, and kidnapped the wife and children, according to eyewitnesses at the scene.

Additional information indicates that the person who was executed is Ahmed Sarhan, a commander in the Al-Nasser Brigades, and that his wife and children were abducted.

There seems to be no clear strategic benefit to the special operation carried out by the Israeli army. The assassination of a commander in the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades could have been achieved through an airstrike without the need for a ground infiltration unless:

The real objective was to kidnap the commander alive to extract information, which appears to have failed.
Alternatively, the Israeli army may have suspected the presence of Israeli hostages in the house alongside the commander, pointing to a potential intelligence failure.

In both cases, the outcome suggests a clear failure of the operation, or the so-called “special mission” as the Israeli army described it.

It is evident that Israel is exploiting the current conditions of mass displacement and population mixing disguising its forces in civilian women’s clothing, using civilian vehicles, and even carrying luggage to mislead and deceive. This scenario is highly plausible, especially in light of the current situation, where many displaced residents no longer recognize even their closest neighbors.

The image below shows the equipment left behind by the special forces unit.

⚡️BREAKING:

Israeli occupation forces have launched at least 40 airstrikes on Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, including fire belt bombings.

Israeli Channel 12 reports that the army is carrying out a “special operation” in Khan Yunis.

According to the Director of Hospitals in Gaza:

➤ Intense Israeli bombardment is targeting multiple areas in Khan Yunis.
➤ Medical teams at Nasser Medical Complex fear an imminent incursion.
➤ 6 Palestinians have been killed and several others wounded and transferred to Nasser so far.
➤ Panic has spread inside the hospital due to strikes around the facility.

There are also reports of cellular and internet disruptions across southern Gaza.

📍🇵🇸📍A Deception Among the Ruins… and Blood in the End

In Gaza today, scenes of displacement are not just about suffering they’ve become opportunities for infiltration and disguise.

In the image: what looks like a pile of belongings at first glance is, in truth, a vehicle for covert entry.
Dismantled seats, neatly stacked blankets, a hollow space crafted to conceal bodies…
These aren’t tools of survival they’re tools of field-level deception.

It’s highly likely that an Israeli special forces unit infiltrated a neighborhood in Khan Younis using a civilian vehicle loaded like this.
They exploited the chaos of displacement, blending in with fleeing civilians
in a setting where people no longer recognize neighbor from stranger, invader from survivor.

But the man they were after… was no easy target.
He may have surprised them.
He may have fought to his last breath.
He may have taken down one or more soldiers changing the tide of the operation in a single moment.

And with failure… came revenge, not retreat.
The man wasn’t the only one killed his entire family was.
His wife and children weren’t treated as civilians, but as part of a blood-soaked message:
“This is the price for lifting your head.”
A personal thought:
It’s entirely possible he killed some members of the attacking unit.
And that is why the mission shifted from a planned arrest to unrelenting destruction.

This is how a shaken system behaves…
When planning fails fire speaks.

Israeli forces executed Ahmad Sarhan in front of his family, then took his 12-year-old son Mohammad, his wife, and other children.

A Palestinian witness said that at 6 a.m., Israeli special forces (mista’arvim) infiltrated Khan Yunis disguised as displaced Palestinian women. The raid, backed by quadcopter drones and F-16 airstrikes, lasted 20 minutes.
