1. Basil Ayaida: He was a 14 year old Palestinian from Alkhalil (Hebron) he had to leave school and look for work to support his family.
2. Although only 14 with no paper work he managed to find work in Be’r Al Sabi’ (Be'er Sheva) outside the West Bank in historic Palestine
3. He had constant conflict with the zionist settlers that employed him for withholding his wages.
4. His employers contacted authorities to inform them that Basil didn’t have legal documents for working there (to avoid paying his wages)
5. He was detained at the age of 15.. he was tortured and interrogated mercilessly for years
6. One day he fought back against his interrogators and broke one of their arms.
7. He spent the SIX years after that in solitary confinement with regular torture and beating, no visitation until 5 months before release
8. To this day he walks like he is chained.. he protects his head when sits from the trauma of torture and he lost most of his memory
9. He spent a total of 11 years in what Palestinians call “the castles of torture” i.e israeli prisons
