🚨#BREAKING: HAMAS OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING ICJ RULING

“We welcome the decisions of the International Court of Justice, which demanded the occupation to immediately cease its aggression on Rafah.

We were expecting the court to issue a decision to stop the aggression and genocide across the entire Gaza Strip, not just in Rafah. What is happening in Jabalia and elsewhere is no less criminal and dangerous than what is happening in Rafah.

We call on the international community and the United Nations to pressure the occupation to implement the court's decisions and to ensure that all UN resolutions that compel the occupation army to cease the genocide war are enforced.”

They also made the following statements:

✅ The Court notes that the humanitarian situation in Rafah is catastrophic after weeks of bombing

✅ The Court recalls that the living conditions of the residents of the Gaza Strip have deteriorated significantly

✅ South Africa called on the court to apply its jurisdiction and impose emergency measures to stop the war

✅ The Court considers the military attack in Rafah a dangerous development that increases the suffering of the population

✅ The temporary measures taken do not fully address the consequences of the changing situation in the Gaza Strip

✅ The World Food Program said that it has become unable to deliver aid to Rafah.

✅ Israel did not provide enough to ensure the safety and security of the displaced from Rafah to Al-Mawasi.

Afwijzende reacties vanuit Israël op uitspraak, EU staat voor keuze

Het Internationaal Gerechtshof oordeelde dat Israël moet stoppen met het offensief in Rafah. Israël noemt de Zuid-Afrikaanse aantijgingen "onjuist, schandelijk en moreel verwerpelijk".

Na het tussenvonnis van het Internationaal Gerechtshof over de situatie in Rafah, in het zuiden van de Gazastrook, houdt de Israëlische premier Netanyahu overleg met zijn belangrijkste ministers. Volgens een verklaring bespreekt hij het tussenvonnis met onder anderen de ministers Gallant (Defensie), Katz (Buitenlandse Zaken) en Levin (Justitie).
Het Internationaal Gerechtshof (ICJ) oordeelde vanmiddag dat Israël meteen moet stoppen met het offensief in Rafah. Ook herhaalde het hof dat Israël meer moet doen om humanitaire hulp toe te laten en de Palestijnse bevolking in het gebied te beschermen. De situatie is er volgens het ICJ desastreus.
De zaak tegen Israël is aangespannen door Zuid-Afrika. Dat land beschuldigt Israël van genocide. Israël had voor de uitspraak gezegd dat het een eventuele veroordeling zou negeren.
