When I first moved to Los Angeles my friend was friends with this woman who was former IDF. She was this cute tiny little lady, maybe 30, and I generally liked her. I was maybe 20.
Then one day, and ill never forget it, someone brought hummus to a party. She ended up going on an absolute rampage about how it was from an arab company and hummus is israeli and they stole it. Demanded it be thrown away.
They did, but the rant didnt stop.
She started calling arabs rats over and over and saying even the children had to die because they are just going to become terrorists. It escalated so fast. I had never heard someone talk like that in my entire life up until that point.
I was still an audio engineer and not working in news or politics, but I was still super anti war obviously. So I was like... "thats pretty harsh. Youre talking about children. Maybe calm down a bit."
That was the first time I ever got called a nazi lol
Anyways, theres some real battles over regional food. Its weird.
