My name is Kate Siegel, and I am from Kfar Gaza. I was held captive in Gaza from October 7, 2023, until January 2025.
The fighters guarding me during this period ensured that all my needs were met, including food, drink, medicine, vitamins, vision treatment, a blood pressure monitor, and other necessities.
They also brought me a doctor when I was feeling unwell for an extended period. My guards responded to my requests regarding food and dietary concerns, among other things.
Additionally, they made sure to provide food that suited my health condition (vegetarian and oil-free). The guards treated me well.
I believe that the Israeli government did not do what was necessary to reach a deal to bring back the captives and end the war, which resulted in many casualties and additional harm to both sides.
I hope for peace soon, and I would like to express my gratitude to the fighters who took care of me during this period.
