Ayham Al-Salaymeh, just 14 years old, has become the youngest person to ever be imprisoned in Israel. His one-year sentence begins today, December 1, 2024.

Hours before surrendering himself to serve a year in Israeli prisons, Ayham’s father took him on a final tour of Jerusalem, cherishing their last moments together.

He arrested at 12 for allegedly throwing stones at settlers, began a one-year sentence in Al-Maskoubiyah Prison today. After 14 months under house arrest, his appeal was denied by the Israeli Supreme Court. His father, Nawwaf, advised him to stay strong, calling fellow prisoners his brothers and the jailer the only enemy. Ayham shaved his head in solidarity with other prisoners as he faced the harsh conditions ahead.

"Every prisoner who's inside with you is your brother. They're all like you — imprisoned for their love of the homeland”

⚡️ Hamas:

The decision of the terrorist minister Ben Gvir to confiscate loudspeakers from our mosques in the occupied interior, and his description of the call to prayer as noise coming from mosques; is a serious crime and aggression committed against our mosques and our people, and a new assault on freedom of worship, which threatens to escalate a religious war that the Zionist enemy and its extremist leaders are trying to ignite.

We call on our people inside to reject this criminal decision, and to take action to prevent the fascist occupation authorities from tampering with our sanctities and religious rituals, and we call on the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and international organizations to condemn this heinous crime, and to take steps to stop the occupation's violations.
