“Israel’s current objective is the destruction of Iran’s underground Fordow uranium enrichment facility, buried deep within a mountain and considered one of Tehran’s most protected sites.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said the strikes are a response to Iran’s growing uranium stockpile and renewed efforts toward weaponisation.
Analysts note Israel may not have the capability to destroy Fordow without US support, as it lacks bunker-busting munitions and heavy strategic bombers.
The IAEA confirmed the destruction of the above-ground Natanz site but said there is no current evidence of an attack on Fordow."
