❗️Iran says Dena crew declared vessel unarmed before US attack

Iran’s Center for Lawyers of the Judiciary says an audio recording of the final communications involving the Iranian frigate Dena before it was attacked by the US off Sri Lanka on shows the crew stating that they were unarmed and on a training mission. Center head Hassan Abdollianpour said the recording contains exchanges between the Dena, a US naval vessel, and Sri Lanka’s shipping and ports authorities, with the Sri Lankan side reportedly confirming the crew’s statements.

He said obtaining the communications was crucial for building an accurate legal case, adding that the recordings were secured after extensive efforts and used in a documentary. Under international law, he said, assistance should have been provided to the crew even if the vessel had been targeted, but “Not only was no assistance provided, but a second attack was also carried out.”

The Dena, a Moudge-class frigate, was torpedoed and sunk by the US Navy submarine USS Charlotte in international waters about 19 nautical miles off Galle, Sri Lanka, on 4 March. It was returning to Iran after participating in India’s International Fleet Review 2026 naval exercise, to which Iran had been officially invited. The unarmed vessel was struck by a Mark 48 torpedo and had 136 crew members aboard, with 104 killed and 32 injured.

Abdollianpour said the legal case concerning Dena is being pursued “firmly and decisively,” with the Center for Lawyers of the Judiciary compiling extensive documentation for domestic and international proceedings. He said around 130,000 pages of expert assessments on war-related incidents and damages had been prepared with the participation of nearly 19,000 experts, stressing that the material is intended not only for domestic courts but also to provide standardized evidence for cases before international courts and legal bodies.

Iran Displays Missiles in Karaj on True Promise 2 Anniversary

THE ERA OF COST-FREE THREATS IS OVER

Statement by the IRGC on the Second Anniversary of Operation True Promise 2:
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

The tenth of Mehr (October) commemorates the historic and enduring "Operation True Promise 2" and the historic and glorious attack by the IRGC's aerospace force in 1403 (Iranian calendar). This operation saw powerful Iran, in response to the martyrdom of leaders and figures of the Resistance Front, including the martyred Ismail Haniyeh, the martyred Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and the martyred Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, strike the heart of the occupied territories with waves of missile fire and precision drones, exposing to the world the humiliating collapse of the false image of the Zionist entity.

"Operation True Promise 2" was not merely a harsh punishment in response to the enemy's aggressions and crimes, amidst the deafening silence of international forums. It was also a clear message to the enemies of the noble and great Iranian people, especially the malevolent and predatory Zionist entity, stating: "The era of cost-free threats is over, and every aggression will be met with a painful and regrettable response."

This strategic operation, guided and directed by the martyred Major General Mohammad Bagheri ("symbol of military rationality and architect of deterrence"), and led by the courageous and inspiring Major General Hossein Salami ("bearer of the banner of the battlefield and champion of the revolution's power and the discourse of resistance"), and with the "technical genius and offensive capabilities" of the esteemed Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, and the "operational wisdom and revolutionary spirit" of the righteous Major General Mahmoud Baqeri, demonstrated Iran's missile power and its surprises to the Zionist enemy and its supporters, especially the criminal rulers in the White House.

While commemorating the memory, names, and exploits of the martyrs of the Resistance Front and the power of Islamic Iran, especially the martyred Imam of the Nation, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei (may God elevate his revered status), we reaffirm that the remarkable power of the IRGC, along with all the armed forces, in the second and third imposed American-Zionist wars, also forced the evil enemy, America, to beg for a ceasefire. It embodied, on the battlefield, the immortal and historic words of the esteemed Imam Khomeini (may God have mercy on him): "If it were not for the IRGC, there would be no country either." Today, this institution, which serves the people and protects the country, has become a pillar of the strength of the Islamic Republic in the eyes of friends and enemies.

In conclusion, we assure the honorable and heroic people of Iran, the makers of history, and the peoples of the region who support the Resistance Front, that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, adhering to the intellectual and practical legacy of the great and martyred Imams of the Revolution, and following the wise guidance of the esteemed Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei (may his shadow be extended), and at the peak of firmness, resolve, and intelligence oversight over areas contaminated by the presence of the American-Zionist enemy, is on alert, ready to deliver a decisive, immediate, and painful response, filled with regret and more devastating than Operation True Promise 2, to any threat, aggression, provocation, or miscalculation from the camp of the Great Satan and its despicable regional proxies.

Over 90,000 housing units have been destroyed in Iran.

The US and Israel have brutally attacked residential areas, hospitals, schools, and pharma factories, gaslighting the world by calling it "humanitarian aid."

This horrific war crime has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians.

‘Israel could use a NUCLEAR WEAPON against Iran to assert dominance in the Middle East.’

—Matthew Hoh, Former Department of Defense & State Department Official, who resigned over the Afghanistan war.

‘For the Israelis, the reasons why they have nuclear weapons is to dominate the region. They didn’t create, they didn’t build their nuclear weapons in the 1960s to deter the Soviet Union. They built those nuclear weapons in the 60s to dominate the Middle East.

And if they are now in this war where they feel they cannot dominate, where perhaps their missile stocks are running low, Iran is clearly showing a missile and drone dominance over them.

They are overextended in places like Syria, Lebanon, throughout Palestine. That perhaps a nuclear weapon is what the Israelis need to assert their dominance in the region.

So I don’t dismiss these accounts of the use of possible use of nuclear weapons, and I am very much afraid that there is a significant possibility of their use.’
