Know what grinds my gears?
Folks that deny Christ or Christianity without ever having read the Bible. And to be clear - I’m speaking of those that step up on a soapbox denouncing Christianity
Now, to be even clearer - I believe the spiritual journey is our own. And I applaud anyone walking their path and finding their beliefs.
However …
How can you know something won’t resonate with you if you won’t even read the source material?
How can you label it a “myth” if you’ve never taken the time to read it and discern it?
There are plenty of folks I see completely dismiss all of it without reading it.
Tbh, I have far more respect for those who have read it, and then come to the conclusion it isn’t for them. It is the exact same thing I have done with many religions and their associated teachings.
How can you claim to be “enlightened” or seeking spiritual ascension if you refuse to read all the theological text that you can get your hands on?
The most common excuse is that “man wrote it so he could have altered it”. Neat story. Man wrote the Torah, too. And the Vedas. And the Buddhist Canons. Man wrote the Emerald Tablets, and The Law Of One - but you’ll believe those men’s words as opposed to the Bible - of which countless stories have been corroborated throughout history, btw.
According to them, the Bible is the only spiritual text in history that could have been altered.
Mmkay. Totally makes sense…
If one was altered by man in order to gain control over people, then all were altered by man in order to gain control over people.
Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of ignorance...
Put it this way: Imagine dismissing the fact that election fraud exists without even looking at the evidence, because it is literally no different than people dismissing Christianity having never read the Good Book.
There is a reason 1/3 of the world’s population is Christian, and it isn’t because we are all “brainwashed” or “indoctrinated”. It’s because a fair number of us began reading the Bible and then realized it is the truth.
If you wanna dismiss it after reading it, then so be it. But what do you have to lose by reading it? Other than perhaps your pride after realizing that book is a lot more truthful than you ever gave it credit for.
