⚡️JUST IN:

A UN panel overseeing sanctions on Sudan is probing how mortar rounds originally exported from Bulgaria to the United Arab Emirates ended up in the hands of Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fighters, according to a letter reviewed by Reuters.

The mortar rounds, seized in November in Sudan’s North Darfur region, had serial numbers matching those that Bulgaria reported exporting to the UAE in 2019.

Bulgaria’s foreign affairs ministry informed Reuters that it had not received any request for permission to re-export the munitions to another country.

"We adamantly declare that the Bulgarian competent authority has not issued an export license for defense-related products to Sudan," the ministry stated.

⚡️JUST IN:

UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces killed more than 100 civilians in an attack on a city in southern Sudan, according to an association of doctors, in the latest accusation of a large-scale atrocity of the country’s civil war.

230 civilians had been killed.

The paramilitary fighters, called the Rapid Support Forces, said on Thursday that they had attacked Nahud, which had been held by the Sudanese military along a highway connecting territory it holds with Darfur — a western region that has become a stronghold for the Rapid Support Forces.

"They offered me $5 million to shoot Ibrahim Traoré from behind, specifically when he bends to pray to Allah. They promised my family and me citizenship in their country. They called it 'an offer I couldn’t refuse.' To them, money matters more than humanity.

But I asked myself. Is $5 million worth carrying a guilty conscience to my grave? Will that money make me a king in a foreign land or a fool mocked by their sons and daughters? I’d rather live as a lion in the wild than as a dog in their city."

Sudanese Minister Delivers Defiant Speech Near Flames After UAE-Backed Militia's Drone Attacks on Port Sudan

Port Sudan – May 6, 2025

As thick plumes of smoke billowed behind him from the site of terrorist drone strikes in Port Sudan, Sudan’s Minister of Culture and Information, Khalid Aleisir, stood resolute and delivered a powerful address to the nation.

The speech followed a series of coordinated drone attacks carried out by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed) that targeted Port Sudan’s civilian airport and nearby fuel depots. The strikes—one of which hit near the airport terminal and another that struck fuel and gas warehouses at the port—sparked mass panic, canceled flights, and ignited fires that engulfed parts of the city.

Standing just meters from the flames, Minister Aleisir addressed the Sudanese people and the world with a defiant tone:

“We will not be intimidated by these operations,” he declared. “We will continue our legitimate battle against the militias and against the United Arab Emirates.”

He stressed that the Sudanese people and their armed forces will not yield, despite the scale of destruction and the international silence surrounding these repeated violations. Calling the drone attacks “the greatest act of terrorism,” he challenged the international community’s credibility in fighting terrorism, saying:

“If there is a real will from the international community—the same community that falsely claims to fight terrorism—then this is it. This is terrorism sponsored by the UAE.”

His speech, charged with national pride and condemnation of foreign interference, captured the emotional and symbolic weight of a moment where civilians and officials alike refused to be broken by terror.

As Port Sudan reels from the attacks, the government has renewed calls for international accountability and urgent action to halt the flow of weapons and drones to the Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed), accusing the UAE of fueling the ongoing devastation in Sudan.
