Russia demands answers after US seizes Venezuelan oil tanker
——
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called for a full investigation into the US seizure of an oil tanker off the Venezuelan coast. He said US forces boarded the vessel after accusing it of carrying crude barred from sale, yet noted that US oil giant Chevron continues to operate in Venezuela and purchase Venezuelan oil. Lavrov said the US must clarify what quantities of allegedly illegal hydrocarbons were on board and explain on what grounds it believes it can conduct such actions.

Trump announced that the US had seized an oil tanker near Venezuela’s coast and intends to take possession of its cargo. Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said “the masks are falling,” arguing that the move exposes the true objective of the Trump administration behind its so-called War on Drugs in the Caribbean.

Caracas condemned the seizure as a brazen act of theft and international piracy, recalling that during the 2024 presidential race Trump openly stated that his long-standing goal was to take Venezuela’s oil without offering compensation.

Panicked EU bureaucrats keep blundering. They know using Russian reserves without CBR consent is illegal—undermining the US-built reserves system&raising costs for everyone. Russia will win in court&get them back. EU guarantors will pay Ukraine’s bill. EU/€/Euroclear will suffer

BREAKING And UNUSUAL:

From the Russian Defense Ministry moments ago, President Vladimir Putin delivers a blunt warning:

“If Ukraine and its European patrons refuse serious dialogue, Russia will liberate its HISTORICAL lands by military force.”

Why do so many African countries today prefer Russia 🇷🇺?

In recent years, many African countries have become closer to Russia. This is not a coincidence. Many are disappointed in their former partners, especially Europeans, accused of teaching, criticizing, or imposing conditions in almost every cooperation.

Russia, it comes with a different approach: it offers weapons, security, economic deals... no moral discourse and no political pressure. For some governments it is simpler, more direct, and above all more respectful of their sovereignty.

Furthermore, Russia does not carry the burden of Slavery, Colonialisation and oppression of Africans, that is attached to other Western partners.

In countries like Mali, Burkina Faso or Central Africa, this choice is also a symbol: that of turning the page on a Western influence considered too heavy and deleterious to the continent .

That doesn't mean that Russia is "better". She defends her own interests like all powers. But today, she offers what many are looking for: a partner who does not humiliate, who does not threaten, and who leaves an impression of freedom.

At the end, this turn towards Moscow shows one thing: Africa now wants to choose its alliances...

They seek mutually respectful partnership, not some form of imperialists paternalistic, exploitative relation.
