No one is above the law. South Korea's former President Yoon Suk Yeol found guilty of leading an insurrection and sentenced to life imprisonment for declaring martial law in 2024.

In Korea its more common that heads of state go to jail than not. They're not more corrupt. They just prosecute people for crimes unlike other governments.
