Trump lied straight to the nation last night in his SOTU speech. Here are the top 10 biggest fact checked lies. These are not slips. They are deliberate. The new pastime is gaslighting the American people, apparently.
Are his supporters to lazy to actually substantiate his claims? Are we living in a post-truth world?
1. Inherited "worst inflation in the history of our country" at "record levels." False. It was 3 percent when he took office after falling from a 9.1 percent Biden peak. Actual U.S. record is 23.7 percent from 1920.
2. Gas prices "now below 2.36 a gallon in most states" and he "saw 1.85 in Iowa." False. Zero states hit that low. National average is 2.94. Only a handful of stations anywhere dipped under 2.
3. Secured "more than 18 trillion" in global investments. False. White House tally is under 10 trillion in vague unverified pledges many of which were already in motion before he returned.
4. "I ended eight wars." False. Inflated count includes non wars disputes and conflicts that are still active with fresh violence.
5. Americans "will now pay the lowest price anywhere in the world for drugs." False. U.S. prices remain the highest among developed nations. His deals cover only a few dozen drugs and change nothing for most people.
6. Economy "roaring like never before" with prices "plummeting downward." False. GDP growth slowed to 2.2 percent last year versus higher under Biden. Overall prices keep rising just slower.

The fact that Trump says he'll protect medicare medicaid and social security after literally kicking 18 million people of medicaid is disgusting. The post-truth, post-facts world has to die. Republicans clapped for him saying that!!! Then he pointed at democrats and said 'they won't protect it'!
