In a wild scene at a town hall event in Israel, an angry Israeli scolds Amb. Mike Huckabee because his "friend Tucker [Carlson]" wants to strip US citizenship from dual citizen Israeli-Americans who fought in the IDF, which would include his own son.
These dual citizens fought in the Israeli army "to defend America and Israel," he insists, but now "The Hague is looking for them!"
"They are not 'traitors to America,' as they've been called publicly on television by politicians and your friend Tucker—who says they should be stripped of their American citizenship immediately for fighting for a foreign country!" he barks.
Huckabee takes it lying down and assures him that the US is doing "everything it can" to "neuter" the ICC and the ICJ "to make it impossible" for them to prosecute those wanted for war crimes—because they know similar charges could be brought against Pres. Trump, Sec. Rubio, and other US officials in the future.
He says the Trump admin is discussing "serious sanctions being placed on anyone—and the countries—who participate in it."
What a perfect encapsulation of our "special relationship."
