It was always a false model designed to attach fascism to conservatism and to give a false balance to conservatism and liberalism. If you follow that model and keep moving to the extreme left you get communism. A conservative believes in a limited national government and the more limited, the more conservative. How can one move even further to the right and get complete national authority? You can't. Fascism is just communism without the pretense of equity.

I detested Rob Reiner's political stance. His hostility toward Conservatives and toward conservative values was abhorrent and in direct opposition to every value political and social value I hold.
That said, for the president to say that Rob Reiner and his wife somehow deserved to be stabbed to death by their own son for daring to criticize him is classless and dangerous.
I almost sends a signal that anyone who dares speak out against the president deserves the same.
Perhaps that is exactly the message he hoped to convey.

Did I like Rob Reiner? No. But what happened to him and his wife is indeed horrific, regardless of what he said when he was alive.
Trump should have said nothing at all, that would have been the right thing to do.
