Major escalation between Iran and the U.S. overnight. (summary)
The U.S. struck an Iranian Army barracks in Bampour, grain warehouses in Khuzestan, a facility in Ilam Province, and other sites across southern Iran. Iranian officials say more than 30 civilians were killed.
In response, the IRGC says it targeted U.S. military sites and infrastructure in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, including Sheikh Isa Air Base, Ali Al-Salem Air Base, Camp Buehring, Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, and the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet support base in Bahrain.
Iran also warned that oil and gas routes beyond the Strait of Hormuz could be targeted if the U.S. blockade continues. UAE sources claim Fujairah Port was hit, while Kuwait says an Iranian strike hit one of its navy vessels, injuring 4 personnel.
Videos circulating online show a Shahed-136 strike in Kuwait, Patriot PAC-3 interceptors missing incoming Iranian missiles over Jordan, and large plumes of smoke rising from sites hit in Kuwait.
