Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said on Monday that Japan will not make major concessions or rush to reach a deal in upcoming tariff talks with U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration

“We shouldn’t make big concessions just to conclude negotiations quickly,” Ishiba told parliament. While ruling out Japanese tariffs on U.S. goods as a countermeasure, he stressed the need to understand both the logic and emotional drivers behind Trump’s stance. He also warned that U.S. tariffs could disrupt the global economic order
