On September 27, 2025, Genoa port workers in Italy blocked the cargo ship “Zim New Zealand” from loading weapons bound for Israel.

Backed by unions, they took control of the Spinelli dock and declared a strike, forcing the ship to leave empty.

Union representatives said this was a victory for Genoa’s workers and people, sending a clear message: their port will not serve the passage of weapons or complicity in Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.
