Nelson Mandela’s grandson, “Mandla” Mandela, spoke out after his arrest by Israeli forces on Oct. 2 while delivering aid with the Global Sumud Flotilla. He highlighted that their mistreatment was “nothing compared to what Palestinians face daily” and linked Israel’s actions to apartheid. He also noted being treated differently due to his South African nationality amid tense Israel–South Africa relations following the 2023 genocide case.
