Egypt Calls for an Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon
In light of the escalation of Israeli aggression on Lebanon, including in the capital, Beirut, and the continued aggression on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Egypt strongly warns against the practices and Israeli violations that risk dragging the Middle East region into a prolonged cycle of confrontations. This chaos would expose the people of the region to dangerous consequences that will be difficult to control.
Egypt will continue its efforts to communicate with regional and international parties to contain this escalation and avoid a dangerous spiral. It calls for an immediate, comprehensive, and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon. Egypt also calls for all initiatives, efforts, and arrangements aimed at reaching that comprehensive and sustainable truce in the region to be activated. It emphasizes that achieving this truce remains closely linked to stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza and implementing the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.”
