JUST JN: Statement from the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas:
What took place this Sunday morning in the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque with mass stormings by settler herds, led by the extremist terrorist Minister Ben Gvir and far-right Knesset member Amit Halevi, is an escalating crime against the mosque, a deepening aggression against our Palestinian people, their land, and their holy sites, and a provocation to the feelings of Muslims everywhere through the desecration of the First Qibla and the third holiest mosque in Islam.
The settler raids, their provocative tours, the raising of the Israeli flag alongside a banner depicting the so-called “Temple” labeled in Arabic as “The Universal House of God,” all after forcibly removing worshippers, imposing a complete siege on the mosque, and tightening military control over the Old City, along with the repeated timing of these raids with Jewish holidays, will not succeed in Judaizing Al-Aqsa, altering its identity, or imposing a new reality.
The extremist Zionist government and its war criminals continue to commit massacres, genocide, and starvation against our people in Gaza, alongside killings and terrorism in the West Bank by the occupation army and settler gangs, and systematic violations in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, from stormings to Judaization attempts and altering facts on the ground. All of this is pouring fuel on the fire in the region.
These criminal actions directly threaten regional and international peace and security, and they demand a serious stance from the international community and the United Nations to deter this extremist government and hold it accountable for its crimes.
We call on our Arab and Islamic nation at all levels to take serious action to stop these systematic violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to take urgent steps to force the criminal occupation to stop its Judaization crimes targeting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and all of occupied Palestine. We also call on our Palestinian people, brave resistance, and defiant youth not to allow any of the occupation’s criminal plans for Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa to pass.
