🚨🇬🇧UN JUDGE FOUND GUILTY OF KEEPING WOMAN AS A SLAVE IN UK

Ugandan UN judge Lydia Mugambe told police she had diplomatic immunity when they arrested her for keeping a woman as an unpaid servant in her Oxfordshire home.

Mugambe tricked her victim into coming to the UK, forcing her to work without pay and threatening her when she resisted.

A jury at Oxford Crown Court convicted her on multiple charges, including facilitating travel for exploitation and forcing someone to work.

Her alleged co-conspirator, Ugandan diplomat John Leonard Mugerwa, has already fled back to Uganda.

⚡️BREAKING: ICC Appeals Chamber Issues Ruling on Israel’s Jurisdiction Challenge.

Today, the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) ruled on Israel’s appeal regarding the Court’s jurisdiction over crimes in Palestine.

➤ The Chamber reversed a previous decision that dismissed Israel’s challenge to the Court’s jurisdiction, stating the Pre-Trial Chamber had failed to properly consider Israel’s legal arguments. The case is now sent back for a new ruling.

➤ However, Israel’s request to suspend the arrest warrants issued for Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant was dismissed as irrelevant at this stage.

➤ The Appeals Chamber also rejected, by majority, a second Israeli appeal about a procedural matter related to the Prosecutor’s actions.

The ruling means the arrest warrants remain active, but the jurisdictional debate will continue.

⚡️JUST IN:

The International Court of Justice is set to begin a five-day hearing on Israel’s humanitarian obligations to allow the UN and others to provide humanitarian assistance in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

The hearings are being held at the request of the UN General Assembly, which voted in favour of asking the World Court to weigh in on Israel’s legal obligations last December.

Officials from the UN and Palestine are scheduled to speak first. The court will hear from some 40 countries over the next five days.

Experts say the hearing will be about the way that Israel can treat UNRWA as well as how Israel controls humanitarian assistance coming into Gaza.

The ICJ hearing is part of several cases against Israel. South Africa’s case at the ICJ accuses Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. The International Criminal Court also has a case against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on war crime allegations.
