Blijkt een ordinaire verkiezingsstunt te zijn.
Trump’s announcement that the US is cutting off aid to Israel. The reality is a shift from direct military aid toward deeper military-tech integration.
JFeed reported last year that Israel is seeking a new 20-year, multi-billion-dollar security agreement that includes shifting funds from direct military aid to joint R&D. Israel hopes the annual sum will be at least equal to, or greater than, the previous nearly $4 billion.
Section 219 of the FY2027 NDAA (which institutionalizes expanded US-Israel defense technology cooperation, joint R&D, integration of Israeli tech, and co-production) has already passed the House. It is awaiting Senate action in the lame-duck session after the election.
Drop Site News has reported that Israel has been developing and fielding weapons using US technology and US taxpayer funds under the guise of “research and development,” with systems like key elements of Iron Beam and Arrow largely originating from US programs before being transferred.
This is not the end of support. It is a rebranding of the relationship into a more permanent industrial and tech partnership while the political optics of “aid” are removed.
